Grayson Murphy Qualifies for USATF Championships

first_img Written by FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailDES MOINES, Iowa-In her last track meet as a star University of Utah 3,000-meter steeplechase competitor Grayson Murphy ensued in her excellence after the NCAA championships earlier this month.At the USATF championships this week, Murphy qualified for the 3,000-meter steeplechase finals, slated to occur Friday afternoon.In the first heat in this grueling event, she placed sixth and posted the 14th best time overall in the preliminaries, running a 10:01.77.Her collegiate coach, Kyle Kepler, was on hand, and commended his athlete’s performance, especially after she “fell on the first lap on the first water jump.”Nevertheless, Kepler reported that she showed her customary resiliency and that he is “proud of her” for her efforts.Murphy was a five-time All-American for the Utes and placed sixth in the steeplechase at the 2018 NCAA Track and Field championships.
