The ladies team had an early start on Sunday, travelling to Glenties for a 10 o’clock throw-in. St Mary’s started the stronger with Eimear Shovlin pointing from the quick break at the throw-in. Within a few minutes the St. Mary’s ladies had the ball in the back of the net with a great crossfield ball into Erica Wilson who fed the incoming Eithna Cranwell who finished superbly. 3 more points were added by Emer Gibson (making her debut for the seniors) and Cathy De Ward. Glenties then came into the game and scored twice just before half -time to leave the score 1-04 to 0-02 at the break.Glenties came out strong in the second half and caused the St Mary’s ladies to have to defend deep in their own half. Glenties scored 3 unanswered points before the St. Mary’s girls pointed. Outstanding goal keeping by Ciara Gallagher and defending by the St Mary’s back line kept Glenties at bay for most of the second half but for one great run through the middle which saw the Glenties girls netting to leave the scores level. But the never say die attitute of the St. Mary’s girls saw them push forward. A well taken free by Fiona Deeney and two quick points by Eimear Shovlin and Emer Gibson  in the last few minutes left the score 1-09 to 1-06 to the St. Mary’s ladies.
